A worm gear motor, also known as a worm gear reducer motor or right-angle worm gear reducer motor, is a special right-angle transmission power device that uses a worm and worm wheel interlocking transmission structure. Unlike ordinary spur gear motors, this machine boasts a unique 90-degree right-angle output, mechanical self-locking, ultra-large reduction ratio, and high torque characteristics, making it a core standard power source for industrial applications requiring confined spaces, vertical transmission, and anti-backward positioning.
The worm gear motor integrates an AC induction motor with a worm gear reducer housing in a single design, avoiding the drawbacks of ordinary gear motors such as the inability to install at right angles, lack of self-locking function, and excessive size for large speed ratios. Relying on the transmission principle of the worm's helical engagement with the worm wheel, it achieves a single-stage ultra-large reduction ratio output. The machine body is compact and sleek, while possessing a robust mechanical self-locking capability, automatically locking the load upon power failure to prevent inertial slippage, heavy object fall, and material backward movement.
