What is a 3 Phase Induction Motor?
Three-phase induction motors, also commonly known as three-phase asynchronous motors, are the most widely used general-purpose power equipment in the industrial field. 3 Phase Induction Motor Working Principle
The three-phase induction motor operates based on the phase characteristics of three-phase alternating current. When symmetrical three-phase alternating current is applied to the three sets of stator windings, a continuous and stable circular rotating magnetic field is automatically generated. It can start and run autonomously without capacitors or auxiliary starting devices. Relying on the principle of electromagnetic induction, the rotor cuts magnetic lines of force to generate induced current and electromagnetic torque, driving the equipment to run continuously.
Because the rotor speed is always slightly lower than the synchronous speed of the stator rotating magnetic field, it is called an asynchronous induction motor. The entire machine has no carbon brushes and no contact transmission structure, resulting in no mechanical wear during operation. This fundamentally reduces the probability of failure, achieving long-term stable operation. It is perfectly suited for industrial S1 continuous duty cycles and can operate under heavy loads 24 hours a day.
