Irrigation Motor
What is an Irrigation Drive?
The irrigation motor is a complete drive motor for a center-pivot, circular-pivot, or translational sprinkler system, unlike separate gearboxes and reducers. This integrated three-phase asynchronous waterproof motor comes pre-installed with the stator, rotor, insulated windings, junction box, and sealing structure; it's ready to operate immediately upon wiring. Primarily used to drive the sprinkler tower's traveling gearbox, it provides stable, continuous, and weather-resistant power input for the entire pivot irrigation system. Widely compatible with Valmont, Lindsay, Valley, and domestically produced center-pivot sprinkler units, it is the most frequently replaced sprinkler-specific drive motor for large-scale farms.

This series of pivot irrigation motors fully complies with international standards for sprinkler irrigation equipment, covering all power, voltage, speed, and installation dimensions. They can directly replace imported original motors in the same unit:
- 0.55kW / 0.75HP Pivot Motor: Standard power, compatible with most domestic and imported medium-sized center pivot sprinkler systems.
- 0.75kW / 1.0HP Pivot Motor: Mainstream and commonly used model, with sufficient torque and strong resistance to start-stop shocks, suitable for mainstream large-scale field farms.
- 1.1kW / 1.5HP Pivot Motor: Specifically designed for large-span, multi-tower, and wind-prone fields, with greater overload capacity and more abundant power.

- Specially designed for farmland, F-grade high-temperature resistant insulation, less prone to burnout.
Utilizing industry-leading F-grade insulation windings, these motors are resistant to high temperatures, aging, and high-frequency start-stop impacts. They are less prone to breakdown and burnout under conditions of high summer surface temperatures, prolonged continuous operation, and frequent start-stop cycles, completely resolving the common problem of winding burnout in ordinary industrial motors used in fields.
- Low heat generation and stable operation, suitable for unattended operation.
The motor's magnetic circuit is optimized, resulting in low loss and minimal heat generation. Even temperature rise is uniform during long-term intermittent operation, preventing overheating-induced power reduction and thermal protection shutdowns. Suitable for large-scale farms with 24-hour unattended operation and cyclic start-stop irrigation modes.
- Precise coaxial transmission reduces gearbox wear and loss.
The motor output shaft is precision-machined with stringent diameter tolerances and a standard flange mounting surface, ensuring extremely high coaxiality after installation. This effectively avoids problems such as misalignment between the motor and gearbox, excessive radial force, and reduces cascading failures like coupling wear, gearbox uneven wear, and oil seal leaks, protecting the entire transmission system and lowering overall machine maintenance and replacement costs.

Application scenarios
- Large-scale circular sprinkler irrigation system support: Compatible with large-scale, center-supported circular irrigation systems covering thousands of acres, widely used in contiguous planting bases for grains and cash crops such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and cotton, providing continuous and stable power output for the machine's circular movement.
- Linear translational sprinkler irrigation system power support: Compatible with translational sprinkler units for long, orderly farmland, pasture planting areas, and high-standard fruit and vegetable industrial parks, ensuring uniform speed driving the equipment for straight-line operation, guaranteeing even irrigation of long, narrow plots without dead zones.
- Upgrade and replacement of imported sprinkler equipment: Perfectly compatible with mainstream international sprinkler equipment such as Valmont, Lindsay, Valley, and Reinke, providing in-situ domestic upgrade and replacement solutions for aging motors, burn-out, and power attenuation issues, reducing costs and increasing efficiency.
- Smart photovoltaic water-saving irrigation projects: Compatible with photovoltaic energy storage intelligent irrigation systems, matching intermittent start/stop, unattended operation, and fully automatic cyclic operation modes, meeting the needs of modern agricultural low-carbon water-saving engineering construction.
- Severe farmland working conditions with high winds and sandstorms and large temperature differences: It is specially developed for the arid and windy sandy areas of Northwest and North my country. It can withstand the harsh environment of strong winds and sun, large temperature differences between day and night, and dust accumulation for a long time, solving the industry pain points of ordinary motors being easily damaged and having a high failure rate.

FAQ
Q1: Does the pivot motor require a gearbox?
A1: Yes. This product is a complete drive motor unit that outputs high-speed power. It requires an external sprinkler gearbox for speed reduction and torque amplification. It is a standard "motor + gearbox" transmission combination, not an integrated geared motor unit.
Q2: Can 50Hz and 60Hz motors be interchanged?
A2: It is not recommended to mix them. The speed and winding parameters of 50Hz/60Hz motors are different. Mixing them will cause abnormal walking speed, uneven irrigation, and overheating due to overload. Please inform the sales staff before placing an order.
Q3: Is a hot motor a sign of a malfunction?
A3: A warm temperature during normal operation is normal. If it becomes too hot to touch, smokes, makes unusual noises, or stops, it indicates an overload, phase loss, or jamming. Immediate shutdown and troubleshooting are necessary to prevent winding burnout and damage.
