Worm Helical Gearbox
A worm helical gearbox is an industrial speed reduction unit that combines the advantages of worm gear and helical gear transmissions. It reduces rotational speed through multi-stage transmission while simultaneously increasing output torque.
These reducers are widely used in industries such as automation equipment, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, food processing machinery, and environmental protection equipment.
Compared to standalone worm gear reducers or standard gear reducers, worm-helical gear reducers offer higher transmission efficiency and a wider range of reduction ratios.
Compound Two-Stage Transmission Structure
The equipment utilizes a two-stage transmission design featuring a clear division of functions and stable operation. The first stage consists of a helical gear reduction mechanism that handles initial speed reduction and enhances transmission efficiency, offering high load-bearing capacity and precise gear meshing. The second stage employs a worm gear mechanism, which primarily facilitates a 90-degree change in transmission direction while simultaneously providing secondary speed reduction and torque multiplication.
This combined structure overcomes the limitations of standard worm gear reducers-namely low efficiency and insufficient torque-while also resolving the inability of conventional helical gear reducers to perform right-angle transmission.

All core components are made from industrial-grade materials and precision-engineered, offering durability far superior to standard gear reducers.
Gears: Manufactured from 20CrMnTi alloy steel and hardened via carburizing and quenching. The gear tooth surface hardness reaches 58–62 HRC, ensuring excellent wear and impact resistance while preventing deformation or tooth breakage.
Housing: Cast as a single unit from high-strength ductile iron and featuring an integrated reinforcing rib structure. The housing offers high rigidity, vibration resistance, and superior heat dissipation, ensuring stable performance during prolonged, continuous operation without overheating or premature aging.
Seals and Bearings: Equipped with high-quality oil seals and rolling bearings. These components provide excellent sealing performance-effectively preventing oil leakage, dust ingress, and water penetration-making the unit suitable for demanding industrial operating conditions.

Q1: Can the worm and helical gear reducer operate in both forward and reverse directions?
A1: It supports normal bidirectional operation (forward and reverse). It features a self-locking capability in the reverse direction, preventing free rotation after the equipment stops and thereby enhancing operational safety.
Q2: Can it replace the equivalent SEW gear reducer?
A2: The unit adheres to IEC international modular standards; its mounting dimensions, flange interfaces, and specifications are fully compatible, allowing for direct replacement of similar imported gear reducers without requiring modifications to the equipment frame.
Q3: How should a worm-helical gear reducer be maintained during daily use?
A3: Under normal operating conditions, simply check the lubricant level periodically and change the oil every 6 to 12 months. No complex daily maintenance is required; the unit features durable components and an extremely low failure rate.
