Helical Worm Gearmotor

Helical Worm Gearmotor is an integrated industrial transmission device that combines a helical gear transmission mechanism and a worm gear transmission mechanism. It consists of three parts: a drive motor, a helical gear reduction stage, and a worm gear reduction stage. It combines the advantages of low noise and high rigidity of helical gears with the large reduction ratio and self-locking characteristics of worm gears. Through multi-stage transmission, it achieves power conversion from "high speed and low torque" to "low speed and high torque," making it suitable for industrial applications with strict requirements for reduction ratio, installation space, and operational stability.

 

 

• Improved transmission efficiency: Worm gear drives rely on sliding friction, resulting in relatively low single-stage efficiency (typically 70%-90%, decreasing with increasing speed ratio). Adding a high-efficiency helical gear as the first stage shares part of the reduction task, thus improving the overall efficiency of the gearbox.
• Improved heat dissipation and reduced temperature rise: In pure worm gear reduction, all power is transmitted through the highly frictional worm gear pair, leading to significant heat generation. The helical gear first stage shares part of the power and heat load, helping to reduce the overall temperature rise and extend the lifespan of the lubricating oil and seals.
• More compact structure and ability to achieve higher speed ratios: For the same total reduction ratio requirement, a two-stage "helical gear + worm gear" combination is more compact and efficient than designing a single-stage worm gear reducer with a very large speed ratio, or a multi-stage "worm gear + worm gear" combination, and can achieve a higher overall speed ratio.
